This accident, involving 2 vehicles occurred on Thursday, June 17th 2021 at approximately 2:41 pm. The driver of blue Chevrolet (2009) failure to yield. Injuries were reported. An officer from Stow Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit #1 was eastbound on State Route 59 in the right lane and Unit #2 was westbound in the left lane. According to witnesses; a box truck was eastbound on State Route 59 in the left lane. It stopped in the road and waved Unit #2 on as he was waiting to turn south into his driveway at 3856 Kent Rd. Unit #2 attempted to turn not seeing Unit #1 and was struck by Unit #1. Unit #2 was pushed over the curb into his mailbox off the right side of the road. Both occupants of Unit #2 and a passenger in Unit #1 were transported to the hospital. Unit #2's passenger had serious injuries and later died at the hospital.
