This accident, involving 3 vehicles occurred on Friday, May 14th 2021 at approximately 3:07 pm. The driver of tan Toyota (2007) failure to yield. Injuries were reported. An officer from MONROE Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit 1 was traveling west on SR 63 driving straight through the red light at S. Main Street striking Unit 2 causing two fatalities and severe disabling damage to both vehicles. Unit 2 was traveling east on SR 63 and made a left turn onto S. Main Street failing to yield to oncoming traffic striking Unit 1. Unit 3 was stopped at the red light on S. Main Street traveling south when her vehicle was struck with debris from the crash causing minor scratches to her vehicle. Then Unit 1 side swiped the guard rail causing damage to the traffic control box on the northwest corner of the intersection.
