This accident, involving 1 vehicle occurred on Saturday, January 23rd 2021 at approximately 1:11 pm. The driver of orange Chevrolet (2007) drove off road. Injuries were reported. An officer from Lorain Police Department was present at the scene and recorded the information contained in this report.
Unit #1 was traveling E/B on Henderson Drive (S.R. 611) in the outside lane. Due to excessive speed; Unit #1 failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Unit #1 ran off the roadway to the right; struck a pedestrian hand rail; and then struck the underpass wall. At that point the driver of Unit #1 was ejected from the vehicle after being impaled by the metal hand rail. The driver came to final rest in the road. The vehicle re-entered the roadway and came to a final rest underneath the underpass against the tunnel wall. See Lorain Police Investigative Report #2021-2390 for additional information.
