Unit 1 was traveling west on SR 16 near the intersection of TR 287 when he failed to slow for stopped traffic in front of him; causing him to strike Unit 2 in the rear. Unit 2 was stopped for traffic on SR 16 at the intersection of TR 287 waiting for the vehicle in front of them to turn left. According to the driver and passenger of Unit 2; and witnesses at the scene; there was a van stopped in front of Unit 2 attempting to turn left onto TR 287. According to witnesses; Unit 1 failed to stop/slow for the stopped vehicles in front of him and struck Unit 2 in the rear; causing him to be ejected from the motorcycle. The operator of Unit 1 landed in the EB lane of SR 16. The operator of Unit 1 was transported to Genesis Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
